The Edwards 276B/277B series, model K-276B-1320, are non-coded, single-action fire alarm stations with a modern Lexan design and UL listing. The 276B models are equipped with terminals for direct field wiring, while the 277B models come with 6-inch (150mm) wire leads to facilitate field connections.
All models are offered with single-pole alarm contacts, which may be configured as normally open, normally closed, or a mix of both. Resetting the mechanism requires either a key or a tool, depending on the specific station chosen. When a manual station is connected to a circuit that also contains smoke detectors, a resistor can be installed in series with the station’s alarm-initiating contacts. This ensures that activating the station does not turn off the alarm indicator LEDs on the triggered detectors. The 276-R resistor kits allow for on-site installation of the series resistor on compatible stations.
For semi-flush installation, utilize a standard North American 4-inch square electrical box paired with a single-gang plaster cover, ensuring a total minimum depth of 2-1/4 inches (57 mm). For surface-mounted applications, employ a 276B-RSB surface back box.
