The Potter OSYSU-EX-O is an outdoor, explosion-proof outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) valve supervisory switch used to monitor the position of a gate valve in a fire sprinkler system. It mounts to the valve and monitors movement of the rising stem. If the valve begins to close, the adjustable trip rod operates the switch and sends a supervisory signal to the connected fire alarm system.

The device features a UL-listed explosion-proof enclosure and weather-resistant, corrosion-resistant construction for demanding outdoor and hazardous locations. Its enclosure is aluminum, with a 316 stainless-steel mounting bracket/bar and stainless-steel hardware. It includes two 3/4-inch NPT conduit entrances and is rated for NEMA 4X and other specified environmental classifications. Installation and testing should be performed by qualified personnel.
