Siemens has introduced a weather-resistant variant of its ‘SL2’ series speakers and speaker-strobes, expanding its advanced notification appliance lineup. These devices, rated NEMA 3R and 4X, are engineered for reliable performance in both indoor and outdoor environments and are suitable for either wall or ceiling installation. The SL2 weatherproof models are fully compatible with Siemens fire alarm control panels (FACPs), dual-sync control (DSC) modules, and PAD-3, PAD-4, and PAD-5 power supplies. Featuring high-efficiency speakers with a frequency response of 400 to 4000 Hz, these units offer dual-voltage operation (25/70.7 VRMS) and allow field selection of power taps ranging from 1/8W to 8W, ensuring clear audio for emergency communications, mass notification, voice evacuation, and fire alarm systems. Additionally, the strobe component complies with the 20-millisecond light pulse duration standard specified in NFPA 72 (2016 edition).
