The Space Age Electronics SSU-WP-1-SE is a severe-environment weatherproof enclosure intended to protect compatible duct smoke detectors, including SM/RW Series devices and specified Edwards/EST detector models, in outdoor or damp locations. The enclosure helps shield the detector and its connections from rain, sleet, snow and dripping water. The “SE” version is constructed from stainless steel and has a white painted finish.
The enclosure includes a removable front cover, mounting hardware, ground screw kit and vent tube kit. Its Type 1 / Type 3R protection rating is designed for the stated environmental applications, and the vent tubes help route conditioned indoor air through the enclosure for severe-environment installations. Confirm detector compatibility, duct openings and vent-tube arrangement before installation; the duct smoke detector is not included.
